As we step into a New Year, it’s natural to feel a mix of disbelief and excitement. Amid the uncertainty of current world events and the hustle of daily life, it’s easy to overlook the blessings that surround us, losing sight of the positives. Instead of setting unrealistic goals, drastic decisions or declaring huge proclamations, I find that practicing gratitude helps me appreciate where I am right now. One way, I stay mindful of my blessings is by practicing Gratitude.
Gratitude is a simple yet life-transforming shift in one’s mindset. A grateful heart opens up infinite doors for abundance and joy to flow freely into your life. And Gratitude has been proven to significantly help us improve our mental health and build a happy life.
Consider embracing a daily practice of gratitude. This simple yet transformative mindset shift can open doors to greater abundance and joy, significantly enhancing mental health and overall happiness.
Weekly Gratitude Ritual
During the ‘Quarantine’, I intentionally started practicing a weekly gratitude ritual that has become one of my favorite mindset practices. During the ritual, I look back over the course of the previous week and write down all the milestones I experienced in both my personal life and business.
I usually end up with a page full of accomplishments in my journal and I feel so grateful about all the things I DID do instead of beating myself up for all the things I didn’t do. I can say with certainty, I’m proud of myself and I’m excited about the next chapter of my life!

Starting Your Own Gratitude Practice
If you’re new to gratitude journaling, keep it simple. Choose a time of day when you’re most relaxed—morning or evening—and reflect on a few things you’re thankful for. Consistency is key; over time, this practice can lead to profound positive changes in your outlook and mental health. Remember don’t overthink it or try to force it. Simply select a time of day where you’re most relaxed and able to reflect. If you’re a morning person, then try your gratitude practice during breakfast. If you’re a night owl and you’re more creative in the evening, try your gratitude practice prior to bed. It’s important that if you’re starting a new habit, you’re also realistic.
Journaling Prompts for Your Own Gratitude Ritual:
- What recent experiences made you feel excited and grateful?
- Who in your family or circle of friends encourages and uplifts you when life becomes heavy?
- When was the last time you laughed out loud?
- How do you plan to celebrate your wins?
Remember, there’s no need to overthink or force this practice. Find a routine that feels natural and let gratitude journaling become a cherished part of your daily life.
Happy Journaling!
